Consultation has concluded. Thank you for your input! A report of the submissions will be created and displayed for council and the community.

Welcome to the Cessnock Traffic and Transport Strategy 2023 exhibition webpage. Your input is invaluable in shaping the future of transport in the Cessnock Local Government Area (LGA). Here's why we're asking for your feedback:

Exhibition

The exhibition of the Draft Traffic and Transport Strategy took place from the 27 November 2023 to the 19 Feb 2024 and the council received feedback on the Strategy from residents, businesses, planners and visitors. These will then be collected into a report for council, which will be presented to the community.

Why Your Feedback Matters

Cessnock is not just a place; it's our home. The LGA is among the fastest growing areas in New South Wales, with an Annual Growth Rate of approximately 3.8%. By 2041, the number of residents is predicted to reach 112,419, which represents a massive 67% increase over the period. This makes Cessnock the 2nd fastest growing LGA in NSW and the 11th fastest growing LGA in the Nation out of 563.

To support this growth, we are committed to planning and providing sustainable transport infrastructure that ensures safe and efficient urban development. The Cessnock LGA Traffic and Transport Strategy (CTTS) 2023 is our roadmap, outlining a long-term vision guiding transport-related decisions until 2041. This strategy identifies actions for Council, the State Government, and stakeholders to enhance and optimise our transport network for years to come.

Your feedback is vital in refining and tailoring this strategy to meet the unique needs of our community. By sharing your thoughts, you contribute to a transport future that reflects the values and priorities of Cessnock residents.
