In accordance with section 31 of the Local Government Act 1993, the Cessnock City Council is seeking public engagement regarding the classification of recently acquired land for public domain improvement purposes. As per the Act, a council is required to resolve within three months of acquiring land to classify it as community land or operational land, in accordance with section 34 of the same Act.
Purpose: The purpose of this public notice is to inform and invite submissions from the community on the proposed classification of the following land acquired on 15th June 2023 for public domain improvement purposes. The Cessnock City Council intends to classify the land as operational land, which would govern its future use and management.
