Why do we need a waste development control plan?
The controls within the draft Waste Management DCP are to ensure proposed developments are providing appropriately designed waste storage facilities and waste can be collected efficiently.
What are the waste management guidelines?
The waste management guidelines use new data and standards to provide guidance for developments to ensure waste management is adequately considered in development design. The guidelines provide applicants the information to design appropriate waste separation and collection facilities within their development and sites can be serviced efficiently.
How does the draft Waste Management DCP and Guidelines relate to Council’s waste collection service?
Residential dwellings are serviced by Council’s kerbside collections service. The draft Waste Management Guidelines provide information regarding Council’s bin sizes and waste collection vehicle size to enable appropriate design for waste storage and collection points. The draft Waste Management DCP and Guidelines do not relate to frequency of collection as part of Council’s collection service.
