What is Community Engagement?
Community engagement is all about involving you in decisions that shape your life and environment. It's a proactive, ongoing process that encourages open discussion and shared responsibility. Engagement can take many forms, ranging from keeping you informed to actively involving you in decision-making to guide the development of plans, strategies and projects.
At Cessnock City Council, we believe that everyone has the right to be informed and to have a voice in projects that matter to them. By engaging with the community, we gain valuable insights into your views and values, which helps us make better decisions and deliver services that truly meet your needs.
Since we launched our first Community Engagement Strategy in 2021, we've made significant strides in how we connect with you. Now, we're taking a moment to reflect and review.
We want to hear your thoughts on how we've been communicating, and how we can better respond to your feedback moving forward.
Whether you call Greta, Abermain, or any other part of our region home, your input is important. Your voice will help shape the future of our engagement efforts and ensure we continue to improve our approach to working together.
This survey will be open from 28 August - 30 September 2024
