Project Information
Council is working with CONVIC to develop a concept plan and detailed design for a new skatepark suitable for all wheel sports at Greta Central Oval in Greta and we are looking for community feedback!
The goal is to create an exciting and active park that highlights the local history, unique location, and diverse landscape, while offering a variety of activities for everyone. The park will include both structured sports and informal recreation options to meet the growing demand for activities by the community. This will cater to both organized sports and casual visitors. Additionally, the Council's Skate and BMX Strategy (2020) supports building a skatepark in this area.
The new facility should offer opportunities for people to improve their skills, from beginners to more experienced users. It should also be able to host events and be connected to nearby infrastructure. The 2020 Audit Report reviews the current skatepark at Greta and suggests building a new, local-level skatepark (Option 2). Click here to read the report.
The goal of this process is to work with the community to create final documents that will be used to help Council apply for funding to build the facility in the future.
Community Consultation Workshop
The community is invited to give their input in person at a Community Consultation Workshop at Greta Skatepark (37 Nelson St Greta, NSW 2334) on Wednesday 26 March from 4:30 - 6:30 pm.
