Consultation has concluded on this project. Thank you for your feedback.
Council has received an application for the temporary regulation of traffic in connection with a development application (DA) for the Winery Run Hunter Valley 2024.
The Winery Running Festival is facilitated by Humphries Events Pty Ltd. The event involves several concurrent distance foot races, ranging from a 2km children’s course, to a marathon distance course. Organisers anticipate an overall visitation of approximately 2,000 people.
It is proposed to provide temporary regulation of traffic at the following locations from 6.00am to 12.30pm on Sunday, 21st July 2024 :
40km/h temporary speed limit and half road closure (westbound lane) on Talga Road, Lovedale;
40km/h temporary speed limit on Wilderness Road, Lovedale; and
40km/h temporary speed limit and Variable Message Signage on Lovedale Road, Lovedale.
The proposed temporary speed limits and STOP / SLOW controls aim to provide a safer environment for non-event road users, and event attendees. Whilst temporary traffic regulation may cause inconvenience to some local residents, businesses and road users, the measures provide a greater level of safety for the movement of traffic, pedestrians and event participants.
Council appreciates that the regulation of traffic may affect road users within the immediate and surrounding areas. You are welcome to view the relevant Traffic Control Plans:
