FAQs
What is a Development Control Plan (DCP)?
DCPs provide detailed specifications for various aspects of development, such as setbacks, landscaping requirements and parking provisions. DCPs must align with the objectives and provisions of the relevant Local Environment Plan (LEP) which sets the overall framework for planning and development. View Cessnock DCP here.
Why is Chapter E17: Huntlee being updated now?
The Chapter has been amended to reflect the expansion of the current development footprint (Stage 2). It also includes the introduction of provisions for a new 'narrow' lot type and dual occupancy developments, updates out of date references, adjusts controls to address application issues, and has been revised to streamline and reformat the old template into the current template style.
How will community feedback be used?
Each submission will be reviewed by Council staff and considered in the review of the draft DCP. Submissions will be addressed in a report to Council regarding the DCP and for consideration of whether the DCP will be adopted.
