Updates
Project staff are currently analysing the feedback received. This information will be used to:
determine which villages have the highest priority for introduction of local character statements;
draft local character statements to define current and desired future villages for the highest priority villages;
identify any potential changes to land use planning controls or provisions to achieve the desired future vision; and
identify appropriate public domain improvements
Project information
Cessnock City Council is preparing Local Character Statements (LCS) and Public Domain Plans for local villages within the Cessnock Local Government Area (LGA).
Between 21 February and 31 March 2022, Council would like to know which of the 15 villages identified are important to you, and why.
Your input will help us define the existing and desired future character and qualities for each village, and capture a community-based vision to help guide the planning of each.
In addition, your feedback will help identify and achieve the vision for each of these villages, including public domain works. Public domain works relate to works on public land (council-owned) that improve the amenity, increase the connectivity, create gateways, and improve the safety of the villages.
