Consultation has concluded. Thank you for your submissions!

As our population grows, we need to update our ward boundaries.

We have proposed changes to Cessnock’s ward boundaries to balance the number of electors in each of our four wards.

The Local Government Act 1993 requires all councils to review ward boundaries before each local government election. The next council elections are scheduled for September 2024.

We need to ensure that the difference in elector numbers between each ward does not exceed 10%. Changes are proposed in each of the current wards. You can view the proposed adjustments here and give us your feedback on the proposed changes.

We have developed a Ward Boundary Changes map for you to view the proposed changes, and leave a comment on the map via a pin as a submission.

The Public Exhibition will finish on 25 September 2023.
