Project Background
Abermain Soccer Ground is a local sportsground located on Orange St, Abermain, within the Kurri Kurri Planning Area in the Cessnock LGA. The site is predominantly used for football, with sporting fields, amenities and storage buildings, a carpark and a basketball half court.
Council and Moir Studio has engaged with users to develop a future design for the facility that will improve overall amenity and function of the site.
Project Update (May and October 2025)
An in-person engagement session was held on 19 November 2024 to gain insights from user groups. Moir Studio took the feedback and incorporated it into the draft concept plan that is now open for submissions from the community.
Feedback was sought from the community on the Concept Plans during a public exhibition and community consultation period from 6 February to 5 June 2025. The concept plan has now been endorsed in October 2025.
