Council is required under section 440(7) of the Local Government Act to review its Code of Conduct and make such adjustments as it considers appropriate within 12 months after each ordinary election. Council staff have undertaken a periodic review of the Code of Conduct Policy and Guidelines.
The Policy outlines the below principles which are set by the Model Code of Conduct in accordance with section 440 of the Local Government Act 1993 and the Local Government (General) Regulation 2005:
