Cessnock City Council commissioned TJB Studios who have prepared a draft Concept Plan for the future development of Mount View Park. Mount View Park is a district sportsground featuring Rugby League as its primary sporting use.
Mount View Park is located at 197 Mount View Road, Cessnock. The Park is located near the Bellbird North Urban Release Area creating the potential for high use into the future.
The Mount View Park Masterplan developed in 2018 has required an update to reflect the current community needs and use of the site.
The goal of the project is to create a concept for the future development of the site and to provide solutions and opportunities that were identified in the initial site analysis and stakeholder engagement.
The Draft Concept Plan includes features which were highlighted by previous stakeholder feedback to date including:
creating active transport links and pedestrian routes with footpaths and shared paths to increase connectivity with the adjacent areas
increasing accessibility across the park and amenities with access ways between facilities
providing lighting for evening training sessions
additional parking
increased capacity for a greater variety of activities
The Draft Mount View Park Concept Plan is now ready for public exhibition and community feedback.
