Update:

The Huntlee Development Control Plan Amendment was adopted by Council at the meeting on 15 March 2023. Details of the decision can be seen here.

The amendment to the Development Control Plan (DCP) chapter has been initiated to enable development controls for a new medium density housing format Lot Type, known as ‘Urban One’, within the Huntlee Town Centre. The Urban One Lot Type is a reference to a smaller residential allotment, i.e. between 217m2 and 354m2. The Urban One Lot Type will accommodate compact dwelling types, which will have the appearance of medium density residential.

Other minor amendments have been made to the DCP chapter to address matters identified since the adoption of the DCP in 2018. These minor amendments are:

  • Updating document references to reflect changes to the legislative framework that have occurred over time; and
  • Include a ‘no further subdivision’ control in relation to residential and commercial lots at Huntlee to address the lack of a minimum subdivision lot size standard for Huntlee in the LEP.

The changes to the DCP chapter can be found in sections:

4.5 Residential Neighborhoods

4.6 Town Centre Subdivision Design

5.5 Additional controls for other Dwelling Types
