Council's draft Operational Plan and budget 2024-25 outlines the actions and projects Council will undertake to achieve the strategies in our Cessnock Delivery Program 2022-26 and objectives defined in the Community Strategic Plan, Cessnock 2036.

In 2024-25, Council will deliver $75.3 million in capital works including:

  • $39.7 million on accessible infrastructure and better transport links
  • $5.4 million on improved works support services and facilities
  • $11.9 million on open spaces and community facilities
  • $0.8 million on flood management
  • $0.5 million on economic development and tourism
  • $17.0 million on waste and environmental management

As well as seeking feedback from the community about our plans for 2024-25, we're keen to learn more about how you'd like to be kept informed about projects we're completing in your area, and what you would like to see for Cessnock LGA into the future.

Should you intend to make a submission on the Draft Operational Plan in writing you may do so by 5:00pm on Friday 24 May, 2024. Please quote “Draft Operational Plan 2024-25". Submissions should be addressed to The General Manager and can be submitted via:
