Project Information
Cessnock City Council is working with landscape architects from Moir Studio to develop a concept plan for improvements to Kitchener Poppethead Park, and we want your input!
About the Project
Kitchener Poppethead Park is a unique regional park in the village of Kitchener, well-loved by both residents and visitors. It’s a place for:
play
bushwalking
bike riding
picnics
social gatherings
community events
The park also holds historical significance as the former site of the Aberdare Central Colliery, with key heritage structures still present in its scenic natural setting.
Council is developing a concept plan focused on the developed park area and is seeking feedback from the community to help shape the future design and facilities.
Have Your Say
We will be holding a pop-up engagement session where you can view and learn more about the concept plan, and share your thoughts: 📍 Kitchener Poppethead Park 📅 Thursday 20 February ⏰ 2:30pm – 6:00pm
More Opportunities to Have Your Say
If you’re unable to attend the pop-up session, there will still be an opportunity to provide feedback. After the engagement sessions, Moir Studio will consider and incorporate community feedback where possible before finalising the concept plans. These plans will then be posted on this webpage for further community input.
