Why does Council need to develop a Tennis Strategy?

The Tennis Strategy will assist Council to understand the resources required to ensure our existing tennis facilities are sustainable and plan future tennis facilities for our City's growing population.

Who will Council be engaging with?

A principle component in the development of the strategy is to investigate issues and
opportunities facing tennis at a local level, utilising the knowledge of local clubs, committees and people that play tennis in Cessnock LGA. Council will also engage Tennis NSW and neighbouring Councils to explore tennis participation and trends, regional provision and future demand.

What are the key objectives of the Cessnock Tennis Strategy?

The strategy aims to assess, benchmark, and guide the provision of tennis facilities across Cessnock, ensuring they meet the needs of our growing population and promote active participation.

    Key Objectives:

    • Understand existing tennis facilities
    • Gather community input and insights
    • Improve sustainability of facilities
    • Enhance provision to meet population growth
    • Encourage broader participation
