What is ‘Community Land’?
Community Land is land Council makes available for use by the general public, such as parks, reserves and sports grounds. Community land cannot be sold, exchanged or otherwise disposed of by a Council. There are restrictions on the grant of leases and licences and the way Community land can be used. A plan of management, adopted by Council, is required for all Community land and details the specific uses and management of the land.
Why is Council proposing to grant this licence?
The Council is committed to addressing the diverse and evolving recreational needs of our community, while promoting social connections and enhancing overall wellbeing through accessible and inclusive facilities.
How does the granting of this licence impact me?
The proposed Licence Agreement will permit the Cessnock Gem and Mineral Club Inc to occupy the Licensed Area for the Term of the Agreement to facilitate recreational activities for the purpose of operating a Gem and Mineral Club for the general community.
